Baino,

Since Gough Whitlam was sacked in about 1975, I've taken a passing interest - off the top of my head I can name Menzies, Curtain, Whitlam, Fraser, Hawke, Keating, Howard and Rudd as PMs - must be a big gap between the first two and Whitlam though!

Ian I'm constantly amazed at your knowledge of Australian events given that most of the world thinks we speak German and have fun on the piste. (well there's a little truth in the pissed bit)

There's little difference between our two opposing parties as well but you're right, for the first time in a long time, we have quite an eloquent leader, he's young, hopeful and takes over the reins of a Labor party that has been beleagued by leadership controversy for the past 11 years so there's a lot of hope riding on Kev. (um I only know the name of the Irish Prime Minister because of Headrambles! *shame on me*)
